Ignorant, intollerant America

Why is the United States so blatantly homophobic, sexist and racist? The latest case of someone having their head so far up their ass that they can’t even smell the shit their spewing anymore comes from the latest Associated Press-Yahoo! news poll:

The poll responses also show Obama has more work to do to quell fears among voters like Kirstie Hartle of Rome, N.Y., a registered Democrat who has never supported a Republican presidential candidate. With Clinton out of the race, Hartle said, “I’m Republican all the way now.”

She said she doesn’t like Obama’s name and thinks he has a questionable background. She also said she thought Obama was deceitful when he broke from his church after it hurt his campaign, and she doesn’t trust him to handle the Iraq war.

“It sounds to me like a Middle Eastern type of name and whether or not he’s born here in the United States, he doesn’t seem like, to me, somebody who is trustworthy,” Hartle said in a telephone interview. “You can’t trust anybody these days, so who’s to say he’s not a terrorist and we just don’t realize it yet?”

Never supported a Republican in her life, but because Obama’s middle name is Hussein Ms. Hartle who is “trustworthy” and not a “Middle Eastern type.” Have we really progressed so little in this country that still judge a man by his name?!

The story goes on with interviews other ignorant pollster who “refuse to vote for an Arab to be in my White House” and others had a “gut feeling” Obama couldn’t be trusted.

Anyone who has read a newspaper article about Barrack Hussein Obama knows he was born in the United States and raised in Hawaii. His name doesn’t make him a terrorist nor does it make him less trustworthy.

Listen people, make your decision for president based on who has the best direction for America – one that can turn around the economy, progress us towards energy independence using renewable fuels and can improve the education system. These are just a few of the many problems we are facing in this country.

It doesn’t need to be compounded by racism, sexism and homophobia. Look beyond the fog in your head and realize the one thing we have in common to build on – we are people. Build some unity on that for once.

Hi,

Obama did throw his church under the bus, flip flop multiple times, has no experience running anything, has a sketchy past with a pile of shady relationships, is a Marxist leaning International pacifist and if he were white, Hillary wins the nomination in a landslide.

America isn’t monolithic. We have our share of evil, hateful dicks but for the most part were a decent, forgiving, generous people.

Projecting qualities on political candidates they simply don’t posess is dangerous, and dumb.

See things for what they are.

You may have your opinion on how Obama would do because he threw his church under the bus, flip-flopped or lacks experience and that is exactly my point. Vote for him on his credentials, ideas and intangibles. Not because he has a name that is traditionally used by people of Islamic faith. Throwing around the word terrorist like that is a ballsy, and like you said, dangerous thing to do.
